Milky Way from Christine is a nightcap made of milk fibres which is a natural material with special qualities. It is breathable, sweat absorbing and keeps you warm – just like wool. Milk fibres are therefore a natural choice for our nightcap in more than one sense – the cap will keep your head warm during night and at the same time it will feel soft and comfortable to wear -almost like a second skin. During cold winter days Christine headwraps can be really practical, they are made from soft natural fabrics that won’t aggrivate the skin. They are also a stylish way to cover the head when you want a day off from your wig. They come in a variety of colours, too. Some are made with printed fabrics, others are plain.

Turbans are a low cost alternative to a wig, but can also be dressed with brooches for that extra special Hollywood filmstar look. Turbans were extremely popular in the 1940s and were often worn by stars including Great Garbo, Marlene Dietrich and Heidi Lamour. Fashion designer Paul Poiret introduced the turban into the western fashion scene in the early 20th century. Wigs & Pieces are delighted to announce that our M.D. Angela Usher has been named as a finalist in Forward Ladies’ SME Businesswoman of the Year for Yorkshire & Humber.

The Forward Ladies’ Women in Business Awards recognise the achievements of professional business women in the North West of England, the Isle of Man and Yorkshire and The Humber. They will be awarding successful women in 12 separate award categories as well as crowning someone the coveted ‘Businesswoman of the Year 2012′ next week. Fingers crossed for Angela next Friday!

Angela has worked in the hair & beauty industry for over 45 years, and was previously an award winning hairdresser on the international competition circuit. After re-training in IT, she set up Wigs & Pieces as an online business that also provides advice and support to cancer and alopecia patients. Wigs & Pieces was founded in 2003 and is now one of the UK’s leading online retailers of wigs, hairpieces and accessories.
